Players: up to 4 players can participate in a single table quick game our tourney.
The deck: a deck of cards plus 2 jokers..
The Goal: The player to reach or exceed the set target score is the winner of a single tourney game. In quick games format, the winner of the game is the player with the highest score at the end of the game. Tie situations will be explained later on. In this game, players get a positive score per cards they melded and built onto other melds. Unlike other variants, in this rummy variant players can melded, build or switch jokers at any time.
The Value of the Cards: As players get points per cards they are melding and building, it is important to know their value so they can calculate their moves wisely. All number cards are worth their face value. Royal cards are worth 10 each, an Ace will award you with 1 or 11 (depending on its place in a sequence) and the joker gets the value of the card it is replacing.

The Game Play
The Deal: each player is dealt 7 cards (regardless of the amount of players participating).
The Stock: The rest of the cards will be put on the table (face down) to form the stock pile.
Discard Pile: The first card of the stock pile will be put on the "Discard Area" face up, and will form the discard pile.
A Turn:
*Drawing/ Pick up - Every turn begins with the player taking one or more new cards into their hand. The action of taking a card from the stock pile is called "drawing". The action of taking a card from the discard pile is called "Picking up".
Discard pile card drawing conditions:
1. In case a player is interested in picking up a card from the discard pile that is not the top card (meaning not the last card that has been discarded), they will need to pick up all the cards that are on top of that specific card.
2. When a player picks up several cards from the discard pile in one turn, the bottom card must be use within the same turn either in a meld, as a builder or to switch jokers. If the player picks up only one card, they can keep it without using it or use it to do the above actions, but not discard it at the same turn.
*Building - This action means to add cards to existing melds, as long as they match the meld of course.
*Discarding - Like in all Rummy games, the turn in Rummy 500 ends with a discard action of one card. In case several cards were picked up, the player may discard any card they want, except for the bottom card. If one card was picked up from the discard pile, it cannot be discarded at the same turn.
The End of the Game and Rummy 500 Scoring
Whether it's a single table tourney, a quick game or multi-table tourney, each game consists of a number of rounds.
A can end round when:
* The stock pile runs out of cards.
* One of the players has got rid of the cards in their hand.
Round score: At the end of each round the score is calculated as followed: Sum of the cards one melded (in sets, runs and builders) minus the sum of cards that remained in their hand (penalty points). In calculating the penalty points, the Joker and the Ace are both with 15 penalty points. Therefore, please note that in some cases the round score can be a negative amount.
The Winner: The winning condition varies between the different game formats. In Multi-Table tourneys that winner of the game is the last player to remain by the final table after all other players have been eliminated. In Quick Games, the winner of the game is the players with the highest target score. In Single Table Tourneys, the winner is the first player to reach or exceed the predetermined target score.
In the event of a tie:
Quick games - in case there is a tie in this game format the prize is split equally between the players.
Single Table Tourneys - In a tie game, the tied players will continue to play until the tie s broken, while the opponents the other opponents will be eliminated.
Multi Table Tourney - In case a round ends in a tie, the winner is the player the player with the highest meld sand builders score. In case the tie continues at this point, the player with the lowest amount of card value left in their hand will be the winner.
Chip distribution (Multi Table Tourney)
The chips are divided between the players seated at the table as soon as all of the scores have been calculated. The player with the highest score is winner of the round. Now it's time to divide the chips between the players. In this case, the winner will receive chips from each defeated opponent as followed: Winner Score minus Losing Players Scores multiplied by the PCR (point chip ratio) of the current level.
Example 1: Jesse won the round (in which PCR = 2) and has 50 points. Terry has 30 points and Tallie has 20 points. Terry gives Jesse 40 chips (20 point difference multiplied by the PCR). Terry on the other hand, gives Jesse 60 chips.
Example 2: Andrea is the winner of the round with 100 points and the PCR is 3. Ron has 0 points and Sean has -20 points. Ron gives Andrea 300 chips. Ron gives Andrea 360 chips.
